It was a good experience, the doctors and staff were very caring and explained everything in layman terms. I would recommend the Billings Clinic to anyone.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was treated fine by the doctor. However, when I checked in I asked about self-pay discounts and was told the charge was the same paying now or getting billed. When I got the bill, I talked to a billing rep that said I had been misinformed but it was too late now. But she gave me a 10% discount for paying on the phone instead of sending a check. A month later I got a bill for the remaining 10% so I called again. That billing rep said she removed the 10% 'mistake'. Another month later I got a bill for the 10% again. Today's billing rep said they don't offer discounts for amounts under $250 so I still have to pay it.
UPDATE: Today a very nice manager named Bethany called to follow up on their billing issues. She said it is true that they don’t offer self-pay discounts for amounts less than $250. However, she could tell from their records that someone had given me a discount in error. She apologized for the misinformation on their end and the hassle it caused me. She sounded like she would make sure that the billing staff will be more clear in the future. I was very impressed that she took the time to call me and make it right.
This place was awful. I came in very ill on the way from North Dakota to Utah. I had just had surgery on my back 3 weeks prior and could not feel my legs, I was also very disoriented. As soon as I told the nurse why I was there, they basically treated me like a drug seeker. They did not even bother to take any vitals except blood pressure. They gave me an anti-inflammatory shot and sent me on my way. By the time I got to Utah, my lips were blue and I was "out of it". My family rushed me to the ER. I had pneumonia (my oxygen level was in the low 70's) and a had a disk that exploded in my back that required emergency surgery. The neurologist was surprised I could even walk. 6 days later I was released. If you can avoid this place, do it. I could have died due to their negligence and patient stereotyping.
I think it's all about the staff member that gets assigned to you. I was recently sent to the ER from Urgent Care. During my 3+ hour stay there, I had excellent nurses and hurried, grumpy ones. The doctor was brusque at first and not very interested in answering questions but upon check out, he warmed up a bit. I can say that this ER is average from the very few I've had personal experience with. It all depends on the particular staff you get. I AM very thankful that they are there, average or not. It's way better than the alternative.
Doctors excellent. Nurses and patient care tech grumpy and lazy. They offered no assistance. Nurse said" just wait there r sick people here" Not considerate at all. Never attempted to determine level of pain and discomfort and didnt try. If i wasnt n pain would have never gone to er
