Rimrock is constantly updating material relating to addiction in order to help people who are looking for answers. Rimrock's web site is easy to read and understand. The staff is committed to helping family members as well as those who might have a problem. Rimrock treats all addictions and it is nice to know they are a duel-diagnosis program which means they can address mental health issues as well. Rimrock embraces the wholistic approach to recovery and believes in the 12 step process. Rimrock cares and goes the extra "mile" so to speak to help addicted people embrace recovery.
But the main reason why I would strongly caution you against using Rimrock is due to the way they handled our insurance and billing. After a week of treatment, they called and informed me that my insurance had denied our claim. What the hell? They took my insurance info over two weeks ago and they were supposed to get it approved prior to admission. So now I was on the hook for that full (very expensive) week of treatment, because my insurance was not going to cover her treatment? I was very upset to say the least and I could not afford to pay for another 3 or 4 weeks of treatment on my own, so I had to pull my her out of treatment early. Why the hell would they let me check her in without confirming that my insurance was going to cover the treatment? Are you ready for the worst part yet? After they used up two of my three appeals to get my insurance provider to change their decision, I wrote a letter of explanation of why my she was sent to treatment and why her week at Rimrock should be covered...AND THEY CHANGED THEIR DECISION! How is it that an organization such as Rimrock, with a "professional" staff could not get my insurance to approve treatment (which they should have done prior admission)...but I can write one letter and get the decision reversed?
Rimrock is a safe place to learn and work through addiction. I love Rimrock because no other facility in Billings does what they do.
Beware of Rimrock Foundation...they are not run well. When a family members gambling and drinking started to get out of control, I searched long and hard for a place to send her. After searching for a facility in my home state, I was referred to Rimrock from a local facility who told me that nobody in Oregon treats both afflictions together effectively. First I went to their website and it looked very nice. The photos, descriptions of activities and the way they presented themselves made me think that this would be a great place to look into...so I called and spoke with them. They were very nice and made it sound like their patients were priority one. I gave them my insurance information so they could get the treatment approved and told them that as soon as I could convince my her to get help, that we would get her on a plane.
So after all this was said and done, I thought Rimrock was out of my life forever. Then a few months later I get a letter saying that I owe $135 for some ridiculous interview. When I called and asked them why my insurance did not pay them, they said their charge is more than what my insurance has set limits for that service. Insurers dictate that a service provider cannot charge you more than what the insurer has set a limit for. Then, while this was all under debate...I get a $90 bill for a system upgrade. They are trying to charge me $90 because they upgraded their software system, which involved moving the charge (that they are not supposed to be charging) from their old system to their new system. Have you ever heard of such a thing? What a joke!
If you want to send your loved one to a dump like this, then make sure you are aware ahead of time that they are not what they advertise. Also, make sure that your insurance has completely approved the treatment. Rimrock just wants to get you in there as quickly as possible and worry about who pays the bill later. They care about getting your money more than they care about their patients. Just ask a patient...not some family member that they fooled.
Was a very interesting place when it came to coming to MSUB and telling us what they do. On the other hand, I know someone who was just there and he wasn't treated with very much respect. I think if you're going to go to a treatment center for help the people who work there should learn to treat their patients with fairness and understanding. They're going through enough they don't need to be treated rudely on top of everything else that they're going through.
As soon as we got there they separated us and started the intake process. She was naturally very scared, so they gave us a few minutes to talk in a private meeting room. When I asked to see where she would be staying, they denied this request. They got her in very quickly and got me out very quickly. Having never gone through this process before, I thought it must just be the way it was done. However, after speaking to her, it was obvious that they did not want me to see what kind of dump she was checking in to. They put her in a shared room with a couple of nut-jobs and a paper-thin mattress. They then proceeded to treat her like a criminal during the time she was there.
I have been calling this treatment center for weeks, they never call back nor do they care about my needs to be put into treatment. I overdosed a week ago and i had been calling to try to get into treatment before then.
