I braced for the worst --having a New York license plate, these guys were going to charge me top dollars, and they would likely say I needed all kinds of repairs that I probably didn't need, but I was not going to be in a position to bargain (given that I had no other places to go, and I wanted to fix the problem quickly and be on my way).
The call did come after a few minutes. Steve, the guy I had left the car with, called and said it was just that the power steering belt was loose. He adjusted it, and my power steering was back at 100%. No need for anything else. It would all come down to $29.70.
A friend and I went in last week to get his vehicle looked at. They looked at it and were very professional, they told us what was wrong, the price was very expensive, which I understand. We needed a center support bearing replaced in the vehicle. The part through them was over $300, and I found it online for $99, I understand why the price is up but we are in college so of course we bought it offline. I called today because the part is in and told John (who answered the phone, I believe he is the owner) and I explained the situation, he got mad at first and said that we are busy and we have people who care about us and want to buy parts though us, if you give me 2-3 days notice then maybe we could get you in. I said thats fine I do not need it fixed today, just whenever you can get us in. He then asked for the name I told him and told him what part I bought and he then proceeded to yell and say we are not interested in your business and hung up.
I'm a repeat customer. I hate going to the mechanics. I was born with a wrench in my hand but Steve has more wrenches then I do. So I always send him the stuff over my head. Great mechanic. Honest as well. And doesn't nickel and dime you to death.
I left the car in, went for a walk, and waited for the fateful call, wondering how much it was going to be. $600? $800?
It is fine if you do not accept people to bringing their own parts in but do it in a professional manner, like any normal business owner who wants to keep customers would.
These guys take care of my entire family. Great job, friendly and explains everything before hand. Affordable!
Great bunch of guys. Took the truck in because of soft brakes. Expected the worse but these guys had it in the same day and fixed the problem within an hour. Earned my business today.
Anyway, I was delighted, and very impressed. These guys knew they could've charged me almost anything they wanted. But they did the right and honest thing. I'm not sure how many car mechanics would've done the same thing. Thank you Cor Automotive guys!
Driving from New York to the west coast, right before arriving to Billings, my power steering went out. Being an old car, and the fluid level being OK, I assumed the pump was busted and I would need a new one.
I called a few mechanics in Billings, all of them were busy and could not get me in for a few days. Cor Automotive was the exception --although they were also busy, they told me I could come in.
